Access Audit to identify priority works required for The Courts Service
Full Architectural & structural design services
Accessible WCs
New shafts for Lifts (evacuation-standard) through 4 floors of historic fabric
External ramps & steps, signage, lighting, landscaping, bespoke metal/ artwork etc
Included close coordination in association with The Courts Service
Programme of works to Courts etc during legal term of the premier courts complex in the country
To avoid an institutional environment, in the context of a historic public building, the selection of coherent materials and fittings was crucial
Use of machineroom-less lift, for energy efficiency of operation and architectural conservation of roofscapes
Creation of victim-support room, landscaped external seating areas, alternative routes etc for stress-relief
Environmental improvements to public areas with heavy-duty natural finishes and paints
Relocation of original cast-iron stair flight to form space for lift
Use of durable materials for hard landscape
